Welcome to the Laboratory Tour Program

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) Tour Program has been designed with you in mind. Your experience will include a small group of up to 17 people with a Laboratory docent that is knowledgeable about the more than 70-year history of the Lab, bringing our current innovative science and technology to the forefront of your visit. In addition, at each tour stop, a program tour guide will give you a glimpse behind-the-scenes of their state-of-the-art work.

LLNL was founded in 1952 as a “new ideas” laboratory, where multidisciplinary teams came together to pursue audacious ideas to advance nuclear weapons science, technology, and engineering. Seventy years later, we continue this proud tradition, with more than 9,000 employees delivering innovative solutions to some of the greatest security challenges facing the nation and the world.
